John S. Bernstein is an accomplished trial lawyer with extensive experience in civil litigation, appellate practice, and insurance law. Over the course of his career, he has developed a reputation for aggressively advocating on behalf of individuals who have suffered life-altering injuries due to negligence or wrongful conduct of others. His current practice is dedicated to representing victims in personal injury claims, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall incidents, catastrophic injury cases, wrongful death claims, and other negligence-based disputes.
In addition to personal injury litigation, Mr. Bernstein has significant experience representing property owners, condominium associations, and homeowner’s associations in insurance coverage disputes and damage claims. He has served as general counsel to hundreds of South Florida associations, guiding boards and property owners through the complexities of insurance claims, contract disputes, and real estate litigation.
Prior to founding his plaintiff-focused practice, Mr. Bernstein served as Associate General Counsel for one of Florida’s largest insurance companies. In that role, he gained unique insight into the strategies and tactics employed by insurance carriers to minimize payouts. Having handled hundreds of insurance disputes from the defense side, Mr. Bernstein now uses that knowledge to the advantage of his clients — ensuring they are not taken advantage of by powerful insurance interests.
Mr. Bernstein’s career is also defined by service. Before practicing law, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, both as an enlisted sailor and later as a commissioned officer. This background instilled in him the discipline, perseverance, and sense of duty that continues to guide his advocacy for clients today.
Mr. Bernstein earned his J.D., Summa Cum Laude, from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Colorado. He is a member of the Florida and Texas Bars and is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts.
